School Lunches

Parents and carers at Hazel Grove Primary have the choice to send their child to school with a healthy packed lunch or they can pre-order a school meal (via Parentpay).

This system gives parents/carers the freedom to choose their child’s meal on a daily basis or up to 3 weeks in advance so you always know what your child has eaten.

It also gives the flexibility to mix and match and choose school dinners/packed lunches to suit each individuals own needs. We will provide a school meal if one has been ordered before 8am on the day the meal is required.

If a meal has not been ordered we will assume that your child will be provided with a packed lunch.

Pricing

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to free school lunches, regardless of income as part of the Government’s Universal Free School Meal (UFSM) scheme.

Children in Years 3-6 currently pay £2.70 per day for their lunch – unless they have been successful in applying for Free School Meals (FSM).

Free School Meals (FSM)

Some families in certain circumstances may be entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) so please contact the office if you think this could be you.

Even if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or 2 and getting a UFSM, it is still worthwhile applying for FSM as there are other benefits to both the school and parents/carers when FSM is identified.
